**The team you will be a part of**
The Material Management team is responsible for inventory audits and maintaining inventory at optimum levels. Develops procedures to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control programs. Coordinates with relevant departments to schedule, audit, and reconcile periodic physical inventories. Oversees incoming shipments of merchandise to ensure that inventory is accurate, updated and provided according to schedules.
**This role in summary**
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to our Internal Materials group to successfully provide innovative methods for material flow and process redesigns and improvement This includes directly supervising salary personnel. Your direct salary reports will manage hourly material handlers working with production and engineering as well as managing supplier relationships in accordance with Whirlpool's values and goals in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
In order to be successful in this role, the Materials Sr. Analyst must have a solid understanding of the lean concepts, material flow and productivity / efficiency projects. This individual will manage a variety of projects involving flow, inventory, line display, transportation and packaging. The internal materials team is accountable for developing the most efficient flow of material through the facility with minimal lead times. The material team is accountable for ensuring optimum material handling efficiency and equipment utilization.
As the leader in the Materials group, you will be responsible for providing the team with proper facilitation and coaching around data analysis, decision making and presentation of solutions around material handling and delivery / presentation issues. These situations are often under tight time constraints and require the ability to make logical and consistent decisions with less than complete data and information. Additional responsibilities include ensuring WCM principles are adhered to and expanded and are in compliance with plant safety processes
**Your responsibilities will include**
+ Supervise salary personnel and manage hourly material handlers
+ Lead the material flow process to create efficiencies
+ Lead WCM (World Class Manufacturing) expansion teams
+ Develop new systems and processes to support improved flow
+ Monitor manpower and delivery metrics and lead problem-solving efforts
+ Collaborate with Engineering, WO and greater plant team to ensure alignment to project charter(s)
+ Support / lead projects to achieve department cost objectives
+ Achieve Safety, Delivery and Cost goals
+ Develop and maintain manpower efficiency charts and targets
+ Drive returnable packaging initiatives and density improvement opportunities
+ Provide data for plant LCD (Logistics Cost Deployment)
**Minimum requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree (preferably Supply Chain or Engineering)
+ Strong SAP skills
+ 5+ Years of Supply Chain / Manufacturing experience
+ Previous salary supervisory experience
**Preferred skills and experiences**
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain concepts and parts flow
+ Strong Excel / Access skills
+ Technical/Product Knowledge: Supply Chain Management, Knowledge of Industry Standards
+ WCM Knowledge: Focus on Logistics and Customer Service
+ Understands and employs basic change management methodology.
+ Uses logic and problem-solving tools to develop plans to meet targets and look forward proactively and to prioritize. Can lead conversations with plant teams / suppliers in a proactive, productive manner. Use of Google Tools (Google: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms & Drawings).
