Materials Supervisor 2nd Shift

Our client in La Grange is a reputable electronics manufacturer of small part component assembly for solutions in the medical, vehicle, aerospace and military industries. They are looking for a 2nd Shift Materials Supervisor.

DIRECT HIRE 2nd Shift 3:00PM-11:30PM (M-F)

$20 -$25/hr DOE

Purpose Supervise and coordinate activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying and issuing materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in the stockroom by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Plans layout of the stockroom considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Advises associates on care and preservation of items received, and stored; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, and maintaining stock; and related problems.
  • Prepares reports of non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
  • Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Oversees the proper disposal of recyclable materials flowing through the stockroom.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise 5 associates in the Materials group. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The successful Materials Supervisor candidate will possess:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Or four to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
