Materials Supervisor Job Description:

Masis Professoinal Group has an immediate need for a very well established and highly reputable manufacturing firm in the Scottsville, KY area seeking a Materials Supervisor on a full-time direct hire basis. The Materials Supervisor will be responsible for managing inventory levels, as well overseeing the production control and planning of company inventory. The Materials Supervisor will collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and demand, as well coordinate and supervise receiving procedures.

Materials Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and measure performance;
  • Work with Production Plant to ensure timely delivery of parts and advise Materials teams of product issues;
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure all employees are properly trained in their functions;
  • Lead warehouse sanitation/5S activities;
  • Create a cross-training matrix to ensure backups are in place;
  • Increase inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, receiving procedures and audits;
  • Review truck loading procedures to increase truck payload;
  • Communicates any issues or delays in shipments to impacted areas with corrective action plans and timings for resolution;
  • Provide proper coaching to motivate workforce and increase retention;
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies quickly and effectively;
  • Plan labor effectively against weekly requirements to increase worker efficiency and minimize overtime;
  • Other duties as required;
  • Escalate issues as needed;
  • Improves methods and processes to increase productivity and quality while reducing costs.

Materials Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead team members
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Strong background in supply chain (international) and inventory management systems
  • Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
  • Advanced problem solving abilities
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities.
