Hercules Materials Holdings is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to work out of our lab in Warren, MI. In this role, the QC Tech works hands-on with our management team and the customers that we are servicing, testing concrete samples. Our QC team tests materials during all phases of concrete production, and they do research and development for future projects.

Compensation: $52,000 - $70,000 or higher based on concrete testing experience.

What we do:

We are a concrete / ready mix supplier in Metro Detroit. Essentially, we have an aggregate division and 8 concrete plants. Our Aggregate team picks up and delivers materials to our concrete plants. From there, we make or batch concrete and then deliver it to our customers (usually at large construction sites).

Essential Functions of our QC Tech's:

• Act as a company liaison between our production team, sales, site engineers, inspectors and customers, addressing concerns and complaints (communication)
• Assist in day to day laboratory functions, including cylinder handling, compression, aggregate sampling, grading and entering data into the QC computer data base
• Job site testing before giving the customers the green light to pour
• Assist in maintaining plant site and equipment with high expectations of appearance and cleanliness in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies.
• Monitor daily concrete production ensuring compliance with industry standards, initiate corrective actions with production and delivery personnel.
• Present favorable company image to customers and employees.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or greater
• 1-2 years of related experience in the concrete industry preferred
• Experience testing, documenting, and reporting
• Able to effectively communicate, investigate and solve practical problems individually and as part of a team
