Location: Flushing,NY, USA
Position purpose
The coordinator for the math/science section will handle the administrative functions of the section.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks (due to COVID-19, some functions may be conducted virtually):
* Develop schedules for the math/science division
* Following the hiring process detailed in the faculty handbook, oversee the hiring of full-time and adjunct faculty
* Oversee a periodic and sustainable math/science assessment process
* Hold meetings with the math/science faculty
* Following the process detailed in the college catalog, when necessary assist with student grade appeals
* As applicable, assist with accreditation efforts
* All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements
* Masters degree or higher in a STEM related discipline
* Applicants must be full-time faculty members in the math/science division
* Knowledge of ABET, AABI and IACBE accreditation standards will be viewed as a plus
Professional Skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel.
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Ability to follow up on tasks as appropriate
Work environment and physical functions
This position is located in an office environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand and navigate within the office area. The office equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of Middle States Standards and accreditation standards
Compensation:
* The entry-level compensation rate for this position is expected to be paid by stipend.
