What We Offer: The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $82,540 - $136,191 annually. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location: This position will be in-person. The Mayor's Office believes we can listen better, learn more, and act faster when we are able to build strong relationships in the same physical space. In this position you can expect to work on site at the Denver City and County Building five days per week.

What You'll Do: The City and County of Denver is seeking a Director of Scheduling, who will serve an integral role within the Mayor's Office to drive impact and equitable outcomes for the City and County of Denver.

Specifically, as the Director of Scheduling you will:

  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain the Mayor's schedule, including appointments, meetings, events, and official engagements. Coordinate with internal staff, external agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to arrange meetings and events involving the Mayor.

  • Principal Support: Anticipate principal needs, such as meal, attire changes, and family commitments. Coordinate with Mayor's Office staff to ensure smooth execution of the Mayor's daily agenda.

  • External Engagements: In coordination with other Mayoral staff, work with external partners to ensure Mayor is prepared for various engagements across the city. This includes gathering information about the event, potential speaking topics, and other relevant information.

  • Communicator & Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external scheduling inquiries. Facilitate effective communication between the Mayor and staff, government officials, community leaders, and the public.

  • Information Management: Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Organize and maintain records related to the Mayor's office, including meeting minutes, and other important documents.

  • Political Savvy and Diplomacy: A keen understanding of political dynamics of Denver and the ability to navigate complex political landscapes is important. You should possess diplomacy and tact to manage competing interests and handle sensitive issues with discretion.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: The ideal candidate has a track record of creating and maintaining systems within a complex environment.

  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex problems, assess different perspectives, and think critically. You should be able to gather and evaluate information, identify trends, and develop well-informed recommendations.

  • Time Management and Prioritization: Ability to manage your workload efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ethical and Professional Conduct: Maintaining a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism is paramount. You should adhere to ethical guidelines, maintain confidentiality when required, and act in the best interest of the vibrant Denver we want to promote.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years' experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience)

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
