Unarmed Security Officer- MCO Orlando International AirportReporting to: Operations Manager/Security Supervisor.Our unarmed Security Officers are responsible for day-to-day security screening of airport employees and other individuals passing through Screening Locations.Job Essential Duties:* Responsible for identifying dangerous objects and preventing those objects from being transported through screening locations.* Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.* Use diverse, cutting-edge electronic detection and imaging equipment.* Perform metal detection searches, pat down searches, operation of x-ray machines physical searches of property, and other identification review as needed.* Additional security related duties to ensure safety to the traveling public.Requirements:* Legally eligible to work in the United States.* Florida Class-D Security License.* High School Diploma or G.E.D.* Florida state-issued Driver's License or I.D. card.* Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.* Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal employment, education, and personal references* Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual / random drug screenings.* Must have reliable transportation.* Must be able to work and interact with the public.* Must be able to work around the flexibility and changing schedules. This includes being available to work shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening and overnight as required.Physical Demands* Ability to stand for long periods of time with few breaks* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.* Ability to twist, squat, and bend over without physical limitations* Ability to perform patrols including walking long distances and going up and down stairs* Ability to protect yourself or others in the event of a physical disturbance* Must be comfortable with conditions that range from Summer Heat to Winter Conditions* Open availability without restraints due to other part time jobs, etcMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* Legally eligible to work in the United States.* Must possess a current Florida Class-D Security License.* High School Diploma or G.E.D.* Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.* Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal employment, education, and personal references.* Must possess a valid state-issued Driver's License or a valid state-issued I.D. card.* Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual/random drug screenings.* Must have reliable transportation.* Must be able to work and interact with the public.* Must be able to work around the flexibility and changing schedules.
