Examples of Duties
- Prepares and packages meals; places hot food items into individual service trays; secures lids to serving trays manually or with a crimping machine; counts, sorts, and packs hot meals and cold food items into cooler for each delivery route; and loads coolers into vehicle for delivery.
- Delivers meals; reviews delivery sheet; determines and drives route; delivers coolers and meals to designated locations and individuals; ensures meals and cold food items remain at temperatures in compliance with food safety standards; accounts for meals delivered and not delivered in accordance with program guidelines; advises appropriate staff of undelivered meals or concerns regarding client well-being; and maintains daily records.
- Maintains food storage and preparation areas and related equipment; cleans and stores coolers; organizes, cleans, and maintains the food storage and preparation surfaces and areas; and ensures activities comply with food safety and program rules, regulations, and standards.
- Operates and maintains County delivery vehicle; cleans, fuels, and schedules preventative maintenance and repairs for assigned vehicle; and prepares and maintains fueling and mileage records of vehicles as required.
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes, and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
- Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
- Communicates with supervisor, other County employees, clients, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Licenses or Certifications:Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and may require standing for extended periods of time.
