Job Summary - Meat Clerk (Full Time) The Meat Clerk works in the McCaffrey's Meat Department and is responsible for serving customers in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Job Requirements
- Punctual and available to work days/evenings and weekends as scheduled (extended hours on occasion)
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene & appearance
- Adheres to company dress code (uniform, hat/hairnet)
- Equipment operation (weigh scales, pallet jack, loading dock, etc.)
- Cleaning and general maintenance of department and equipment.
- Strong oral & written communication skills with customers (in-person & telephone)
- Observes company code of conduct, policies and store rules
- Preform other duties and assignments as directed
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Key Responsibilities
- Speaking and engaging with customers in a calm, effective and friendly manner
- Answering product related questions, taking orders, selecting, weighing, pricing and wrapping
- Serving customers with timely coordination and processing of orders
- Raw meat preparation, packing, storage and inventory replenishment
- Counter presentation & product merchandising
- Keep track of the need for wrapping materials, labels, etc.
- Maintaining an organized, clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to all provincial health and civil code regulations
- Assist with meat deliveries (loading, unloading, auditing/signing for orders received)
Physical Demands
- Stand on feet, bend forward, stoop or walk for the majority of the time on duty
- Work in freezer and/or cooler for short periods of time
- Work in cool area for extended periods of time.
- Lift, push or pull cases/containers of product up to 50 pounds.
