While performing the general duties of this position, you will assist in maintaining the highest quality and selection of meat products, preparing customer-sized proportions of meat for sale, and ensuring the general safety and cleanliness of the meat department and display cases. Other duties of this position include:
- Wrap and package special cuts of meat as ordered by customers.
- Ensure proper preparation and placement of meat cuts by wrapping and packaging products for sale as prepared by meat cutters.
- Weigh, price, and label all cuts of meat correctly for sale.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat, and organized area in the meat department, including cleaning and sanitizing the department.
- Responsible for unloading truck deliveries and properly storing all ordered inventory.
- Assist with the weekly and monthly departmental inventory as requested.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of all meat department equipment and company property.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months working in a meat department capacity preferred.
