Overview:

The Meat Merchandiser is responsible for the execution of day-to-day merchandising, stocking, product flow, planogram, and pricing of the Meat and Seafood departments as well as for the training and development of Meat Market Managers and associates to maximize sales and performance in the assigned district.This is a field position. The ideal candidate will be located in the Augusta, GA or surrounding locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and associates.
  • Works with store teams to ensure effective implementation of company merchandising programs and weekly sales plans.
  • Is responsible for achieving financial performance goals in both Meat and Seafood departments.
  • Works with Operations and Human Resources in identifying staffing needs and in developing successors.
  • Conducts interviews and cutting tests to assist operations in proper staffing of each Meat and Seafood departments.
  • Trains Meat and Seafood associates in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Has ability to determine Meat Department areas for improvement and institute changes to address concerns.
  • Executes localized merchandising plans and follow company plans to ensure Meat department achieves profits.
  • Acts as a vital communication link to store teams, employees, and the support staff, crossing all departmental lines.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and sanitation standards mandated by state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensures associates run equipment safely and adhere to all company policies.
  • Travels to store in the assigned district.
  • Qualifications:

    Five years supermarket management experience and a thorough knowledge of Meat department operations. Must be an excellent verbal communicator and have the skill to influence store managers to comply with merchandising and company standards programs. Should be a leader among peer groups with a proactive approach that seeks out continuous improvement.
