We value each member of our diverse and talented team - because at Palmer Food Services, our associates are our unfair advantage.What We Value:Honesty & IntegrityService & ExcellenceCollaboration & TeamworkFamily & CommunityDependability & LoyaltyCompassionRoles and Responsibilities:Live the company's values by displaying our high standard characteristics and behaviors that lead to our collective success as outlined in our Values in Action.Perform the packaging operation to ensure the product meets the specifications providing efficient storage and shipmentEnsure Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations are followed at all times to keep our processing procedures within the federal guide linesAssist with the restocking of all boxes, vacuuming bags and refilling roll stock for all packaging machines.Inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove any defective products and packaging materialChanging of Juliann dates on machines and daily sanitation of all machines, and insuring that the water and air compressor will turned on at the beginning of the shift and off at the end of the shiftPrior to start up sanitize all machines and properly assemble as well as proper shut down, cleaning and sanitation of machines at end of shiftReview work orders so product is packaged and labeled according to specificationsOther duties as assigned by manager on dutyQualifications:Minimum QualificationsMust be able to read and write in English and perform basic mathematicsAbility to read, comprehend and follow work orders, as well as package and label the product correctlyMust have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervisionMust be able to adapt and react to changing needs and prioritiesAdhere to high standards of sanitation and hygieneMust have excellent observation skills to prevent out-of-quality situations and production line problemsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in packaging or other manufacturing operationsOperating knowledge of all machines in the packaging room. These machines include the Dixie Skin pack, Multipack or pouch forming machines, the camber vacuum machine, the banding machine and the label printing machineSalary:$16.00- $18.00/ a hourShift:Monday- Friday 7:30 AM- 4:30 PMPhysical Demands:The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a Production Packaging Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
