- Visually inspect, test-run, and repair defects on a wide variety of completed components or machines as assigned
- Check power unit and truck for complete operation and perform service tasks
- Use appropriate or improvised gages to check pressures at various points
- Operate machines for test run
- Repair or adjust hydraulic systems and make any other repairs as necessary
- Use good judgement to determine whether quality is acceptable
- Occasionally required to operate machines for demonstrations or for testing of new re-designed components or units
- Use of average to complicated blueprints or schematics, testing check lists, sales order, parts catalogs, equipment manuals, general and some detailed instructions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability read average to complicated blueprints or schematics
- Ability to assist in set-ups for production
- Ability to verify dimensions and make adjustments by reading blueprints and using measuring instruments
- Ability to perform testing of finished product by checking operational functions
- Ability to assist with training of coworkers in proper work procedures and safety
- Knowledge of and ability to operate machines
- Knowledge of and ability to use, both hand and power tools essential
- Knowledge of product's operational functions
- Ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to prioritize work using general guidelines to respond to multiple, simultaneous demands and requirements efficiently without losing composure.
- Knowledge of GMS and safety systems to ensure compliance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment or transferrable experience preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist/turn, bend/squat, climb, reach below knees and reach above shoulders on a continuous basis.
- Must be physically capable of standing/working 8+ hour shift(s)
- Frequent overtime scheduled, including weekends
- Frequent use of powered material handling equipment.
- Frequently required to lift/carry up to 50lbs unassisted
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
