Walla Walla County Fire District #4 is accepting applications for the position ofMechanic/Firefighter. The person filling this position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a complete maintenance program for all Fire District apparatus and maintaining the associated records. The Mechanic/Firefighter currently performs firefighting and EMS duties and the selected candidate will be required to meet the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) language for a firefighter within the first 24 months of employment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Associate's Degree or other equivalent training in heavy truck or automotive repair.
• Minimum three (3) years full-time experience as a heavy truck or automotive mechanic.
• Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and maintenance software.
• At the Fire Chief's discretion, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities.
• Upon employment, and while employed, must hold and continuously maintain, a valid Washington State Driver's License
• Must pass District's physical agility test, be in excellent health and free from any medical or physical conditions which would prevent the performance of essential job functions.
