Haaker Equipment Company is looking to hire for a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the Phoenix, AZ Area!

Earn $30-$35 Per Hour + Quarterly Commissions - Full Benefits

Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience. ​

Job Summary:

This position must have general mechanical experience. Requires individual to work under the supervision of the Shop Foreman and Service Writer. Individual will receive work assignments and schedule on a daily basis. Perform assigned tasks per schedule and process all required documentation. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff, regarding repairs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performrepairs on customer equipment as directed by the Service Writer or ShopForeman, in indoor or outdoor applications and in dirty or foul environments.
  • PerformPreventative Maintenance on customer's equipment.
  • Performrequired maintenance on Company owned equipment.
  • Reportand track time worked on jobs accurately.
  • Completerepair orders as outlined with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs.
  • Abilityto determine the proper tools and equipment needed for a job.
  • Operate,monitor and control equipment or systems to diagnose and perform repairs onequipment
  • Inspectequipment to determine if additional work is required.
  • Abilityto remain stationary, position or traverse equipment to properly diagnoserepairs. Also be able to position partsup to 50 pounds into place for proper installation.
  • Saveand tag parts per factory warranty guidelines if a warranty repair.
  • Createparts list for required repairs.
  • Readand understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
  • NotifyService Manager and Service Writer if additional work is required or itemslisted on service order are not needed.
  • NotifyService Manager and Service Writer if repairs cannot be completed within timeframe promised.
  • Supervisework of apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Mustbe able to perform basic fabrication jobs such as cutting, measuring, torching,welding, etc.
  • Keepshop and/or service truck work space clean.
  • Keepup to date with factory training, tech tips and service bulletins.
  • Followall company safety policies and procedures, report any safety issues andaccidents to manager.

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

  • 2-5years of mechanical experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electricalsystems, or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • Abilityto diagnose and troubleshoot equipment systems.
  • Abilityto identify component failures, worn or damaged parts, and must be able toperform quality repairs.
  • Abilityto work well with customers as well as internal staff.
  • Abilityto obtain a class B license within 120 days after hire date.
  • Musthave and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Abilityto lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Mustbe able to stand, stoop, squat and sit for long periods of time as repairrequires.
  • Mustbe able to work overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Mustbe able to push and/or pull with up to 25lbs of pressure.
  • Abilityto grasp and hold tools with both hands as repair requires.

PreferredSkills/Abilities:

  • 5+years of mechanical experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electricalsystems, or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • Priorexperience working on product lines that we offer.
