- Skilled in the dismantling, repair, overhaul, and rebuilding of complicated machinery.
- Good working knowledge of the operation and construction of different types of pumps, compressors, bearings, seals, couplings, and gaskets. (Must also demonstrate the ability to learn about the listed above.)
- Skilled in the safe and productive use of hand, bench, and portable power tools. (In collaboration with the site's machine shop)
- Knowledge in the application of the various tolerances for bearings, seals, and machinery component assembly.
- Able to follow instructions both verbally and written for the installation of machine parts and components along with other duties.
- Demonstrates the capability of installing machine parts and components from detailed drawings or rough sketches.
- Knowledgeable in machinery electrical systems and diagnosis techniques.
- Knowledgeable in the application of proper lubrication type and techniques for bearing and machinery components.
- Capable of performing labor relating to maintenance of roadways, promptly responding to emergency weather situations, operating equipment to maintain county roadways.
