The primary purpose of this position is to develop the electrical and mechanical skills required to progress to a Technician in the Automation roles. In this job you will assist Mechanic IIs and IIIs to diagnose, adjust, repair and maintain Automation equipment.Duties and Responsibilities•Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and complete appropriate documentation.•Gain familiarization with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment•Obtain general knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.•To assist other maintenance team members with duties/repairs of equipment consistent with level of experience and trainingMinimum Qualifications•Basic knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.•General understanding of PLC and VFD controlled machinery.•Efficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components.•Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.•Proper use of power tools and measuring devicesmust provide all basic hand tools required to maintain automated equipment.•Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft.•Able to access assets in the structure using ladders (ladder weight limit of 300 lbs)•Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems.•Experience welding with MIG, TIG, or Stick a plus.•Knowledge of ABB/SEW drive technology a plus.•Experience with various Machine Shop equipment a plusSkills and Abilities•Constant- seeing, hearing, sitting•Frequent- standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, gripping of items 20 lbs. and under•Occasional- carrying and lifting items over 60lbs.•To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
