THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ENLISTMENT IN THE U.S. ARMY OR ARMY RESERVE Being a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the United States Army is a great opportunity to get all the training you need, as well as job experience for the civilian world! The wheeled vehicle mechanic is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles Job Duties Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systemsInspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and componentsService automotive electrical systems including wiring harness, and starting and charging systemsPerform wheeled vehicle recovery operationsTraining Training for an allied trade specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction.
