ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a member of the Maintenance Team, the Maintenance Technician will help ensure the seamless operation of our bakeries. The Maintenance Technician will assist in all mechanical aspects of our large-scale bakery including safety, maintenance, and sanitation. This person must be well-versed in mechanics and electronics (tools will be provided). This person must be a positive, solution-oriented team player, with excellent communication skills. This role will report to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues
• Troubleshoots and repairs bakery equipment and machinery including ovens, conveyers, belts, slicing machines, motors, pumps, control systems, compressed air systems, gears, sprockets, chains, bearings, etc
• Fixes and/or replaces broken parts according to specifications
• Inspect, test, and operate equipment to identify problems and/or confirm repairs
• Maintain and inventory parts
• Read schematics, blueprints and drawings
• Will perform and complete tasks in a timely manner, logging records/notes
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Comfortable working in a team environment
• Follow all safety measures and company policies

ABOUT YOU:

• Must have experience working with electronics, mechanical repairs, wiring diagrams, HVACs, etc.

• Able to work a flexible/variable schedule, including early mornings and evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Friendly, personable, punctual, and dependable.
• Solution-oriented.
• Safety obsessed.
• Have a positive attitude and are a team player.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Prepared to work up to 8 hours on your feet and lift up to 30 pounds.

Job Types: Full-time, hourly

Pay: $24/hour - $28/hour depending on experience and skill level

Benefits: Paid time off

Schedule: 8-hour shifts including weekends; hours will vary with the needs of the business

Work Location: In-person, Bronx, NY (primary location), in-person Manhattan, NY (secondary locations)
