Financially stable, growing and with over 30 years of experience, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Trailer Mechanic in Cordele, GA. As a member of the Union Compress team, you will have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career that may exceed your expectations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trailer bodies, systems and components.
- Performing preventative maintenance measures on trailers.
- Experience replacing landing legs and welding.
- Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.
- Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.
- Checking and repairing the brake chambers, sack adjusters and brake cam bushings.
- Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.
- Ensuring that trailers meet DOT road safety requirements.
- Compiling inspection reports to document repairs.
- Provide a safe environment to work in and follow OSHA regulations.
- Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.
- Maintain an organized and neat work area.
- Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have previous welding experience.
- Availability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to bend, stand, and walk throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
