**Job Description:**

**POSITION SUMMARY:** Perform duties required to assemble or modify electromechanical equipment for our 1st shift operation.

**JOB FUNCTIONS:**

Assemble parts or unit & attach unit to assembly, subassembly, or frame, using hand tools and power tools.

Inspect, test, and adjust completed unit to ensure that unit meets specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.

Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spotface bolt holes in parts, using drill press & portable power drill.

Position and align parts, using fixtures, jigs, and templates.

Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequence of electromechanical unit.

File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand tools and power tools.

Disassemble unit to replace parts or to crate for shipping.

Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies.

Attach name plates and marks identifying information on parts.

Perform basic pneumatic/hydraulic/conduit layout and hook-up.

Comply with company standards for attendance and hours of work.

Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Supervisor and/or Team Leader.

Maintain work area & equipment in a clean, orderly condition, informing supervisor of defective or faulty equipment or materials & unusual conditions, maintaining quality standards and following safety rules.

**POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:**

**Education:** Knowledge equivalent to a basic high school vocational education with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions; and to work from drawings, diagrams, schedules, etc.

**Experience:** 2+ years of relevant work or industry experience.

**Skills and Abilities:** Skills and abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

The ability to make coordinated movements of the fingers and hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects

Ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged

The ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)

Strong mathematical skills

The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs

Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing

Strong ability to apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers

The ability to use one's abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing

Skills to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order

The ability to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down

The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness

Ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions, such as in the operation of a forklift or crane

**Physical, Visual and Mental Demands:** Required to lift up to 50 pounds. A significant degree of walking or standing, pushing and/or pulling arm or leg controls or constant pushing and/or pulling of materials. Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination. Part time normal and part time concentrated attention and manual coordination.

**Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions**: PPE is required (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, etc. as needed in required areas).

**Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids**: Hand tools, Power tools, Measuring Instruments, Micrometers, Calipers, and Drills.
