Job Title: FabricatorJob DescriptionThis position is responsible for the fabrication of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets to satisfy customer orders. Employees will take an order with a blueprint, perform cutting and fabrication, use hand and power tools, and prepare the materials for the next step in the process.ResponsibilitiesProcess various types of steel, including cold roll, Galvannel, and stainless steel.Recognize copper and steel thickness and gauges.Cut copper and sheet steel on a shear (48x96).Operate forming machinery to bend copper and steel (Hydraulic Brake Press - 50/50 and B130).Operate shearing machinery including glastic and steel (Hydraulic Shear – Cincinnati Shear).Punch holes in copper and steel (Boschert CU-PROFI, Stripit 750).Wash, dry, and prepare steel parts for paint.Debur and grind steel parts with hand tools.Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.Ensure proper protective equipment is worn at all times and tools or other equipment are properly used based on the task.Follow control document procedures.Maintain regular in-person attendance.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience as a Fabricator working with Press Brakes, shop equipment, and hand/power tools.Experience in washing steel parts.Experience in grinding and deburring.Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.Ability to convert fractions to decimal equivalents and decimals to fractions.Basic computer skills.Must be a team player with good attendance.Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work with others with a positive attitude.Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to perform job duties such as facilitating department huddles, collaborating with engineers and project managers, and assigning duties to team members.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.Why Work Here?Company offers good benefits and long-term earning opportunities, including group health, dental, vision, and life insurance, Local 134 IBEW Pension Plan, and supplemental insurance.
