Job Summary:

A mechanical assembler produces state-of-the art conveyor and packaging machinery by assembling parts and subassemblies.

Responsibilities Include:

* Produces finished products by assembling parts and subassemblies.

* Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.

* Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hand tools or machines.

* Operates Milling machine, Lathe, and other manufacturing equipment.

* Mig, Stick, and or Tig welding of low volume parts and /or equipment.

* Conducts quality control checks.

* Onsite measurement for product configuration prior to installation.

* Assembly pneumatic circuits from drawing or schematic.

* Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.

* Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists, gathering parts and subassemblies, tools, and materials.

* Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

* Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and subassemblies.

* Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

* Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

* Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.

* Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

* Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.

* Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

* Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* 2+ years building maintenance experience.

* 2+ years electrical experience

* Professionalism and Leadership skills

* Mechanical Aptitude including the ability to understand measurements of fractions, metric and standard.

* The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements with a variety of tools.

* Overtime and weekend work may be required. Must be willing and able to travel.

* Must have a valid Driver's License and clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)

* High School Diploma or equivalent education/Certification

Preferred:

* Management Experience

* Conveyor belting Experience

* CNC Machine Experience (G code)

* Lathe Experience

* Certified Welder

* Rigging Experience

* Belt splicing knowledge

* Forklift certified

Desired Characteristics:

* Mechanical aptitude

* Positive attitude

* Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.

Physical Demands:

* Must be able to frequently lift 50lbs. safely using proper lifting techniques.

* Must be able to lift, carry, pull, push, climb, shovel, and walk, as defined by the scope of the job.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 an hour
