Applies basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to inspection work. Assembles components of work-holding assemblies where required. Identifies and resolves issues regarding fit and function of assemblies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following is an outline of the principle duties required of the position. Other duties are performed as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsCleans parts prior to inspection to ensure that there are no false readings.Uses fixed or variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and/or processes, to ensure conformance with standards. Instruments include, but are not limited to gage blocks, height gages, dial indicators and bore gagesChecks for irregularities and defects.Fill out inspection sheets and ready approved parts for assembly.Relays data found to the Quality Engineer, who then make any necessary decisions.Does all precision hand lapping for gages and parts.Assembles parts when required and does inspection of completed assemblies.Checks assemblies for fit and function where applicable.Participates in process improvement activities and Lean events.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
