Job Description - Mechanical Assembly Technician

The Mechanical Assembly Technician will work with a team of Assembly Technicians to perform a wide variety of assembly processes, machine builds, and light machining to achieve an overall goal of providing a quality product to our customers on time with zero defects. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in mechanical machine assembly work. A strong mechanical aptitude, great organizational skills, and proficiency reading blueprints are essential for this position. This position reports directly to the Assembly Lead.

Pay Range: $17-$23/hour - Open to Discussion

Job Responsibilities - Mechanical Assembly Technician

  • Assemble simple to complex mechanical assemblies per specification by interpreting blueprints and drawings while following manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Identify proper tooling and equipment to perform assigned operation
  • Inspect parts, as necessary using the proper measuring tools (Micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Teardown and crate equipment for shipment
  • Operate a tow motor and overhead crane
  • Assist in maintaining the highest quality of product provided by Weiss North America
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed

Desired Skills & Experience - Mechanical Assembly Technician

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of Mechanical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Well organized with an aptitude for details
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment
  • Experience with using different types of pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools
  • Able to stand or walk for the majority of the day and able to lift 40lbs on a needed basis and up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Able to regularly apply physical mobility (stretching, lifting, bending, twisting, etc.) to perform all assembly related assignments
  • Machining and electrical experience and knowledge is a plus
