Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Build Lead in the Pontiac, Michigan area. The Lead will be responsible for helping to manage up to 20 contract employees on the team and needs to be open to any international and local travel for up to 2 weeks at a time. The lead needs to be comfortable doing integration work; setting up assembly lines on the floor, putting tools down on the floor and leveling them, putting robot risers down, running hoses & pipes for air and water, etc. The Mechanical Build Lead will be supervising & executing mechanical builds, integrations, & installations of tooling and complete robotic production lines for customers. They will be preparing, supervising, and executing the mechanical build processes; studying any drawings, assembly plans, line layouts, and checking availability of materials and tools. Other Responsibilities Include: - Monitoring and execution of safe work practices. - Reporting on project progress to Manufacturing Manager and Engineering Team. - Documenting project status on White Board meetings - Optimize assembly line setup and integration tool assembly - Adjust tooling to match customers product. - Drive the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001 and ISO/14001. - Monitor the quality inputs and outputs for material and contractor assignments. - Perform checks for quality and operation, including the necessary adjustments. - Provide professional support and guidance to suppliers upon request. - Carry out and report corrective measures in consultation with Manufacturing Manager and Engineering Team. - Travel to the end user site and supervise contractor installations, commissioning, and tryout. - Implementation and maintenance of 5S and kaizen practices and in general keeping a clean organized shop area. - Review the details of the BOM, Drawings and Diagrams for project understanding and knowledge. - Ensure floor labor is following the BOM, drawings and diagrams. - Carrying out mechanical, electrical and/or pneumatic installation (at least two aspects). - Maintain an on-time line preparation along with the Manufacturing Manager - Monitor the quality and quantity of the work of individual employees. - Implementing and reporting on corrective measures in consultation with the Manufacturing Manager. - Utilize and manage Area White Boards for documenting and dates, issues, progress actions, owner, buy-off dates, and delivery schedules. - Anticipate safety risks and report on any safety concerns or incidents. - Check, adjust, test tools in terms of dimensions, quality and functionality. - Mechanical assembly of tools, grippers, etc. according to customer specifications. - Troubleshoot issues. - Participate in Internal and Customer Buy-off of Tools, Kits, or Assembly Lines.
