Summary
APCO Holdings is looking for a Claims Adjuster who can handle and process Automotive Mechanical Breakdown claims within an office environment. In order to be successful in this position strong customer service and vehicle mechanical skills are necessary. Successful Adjusters have several opportunities for career progression, including increase in compensation and responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Check each claim for coverage by verifying contract information, recalls, claims history, cause and extent of failure, service history, other warranties, etc.
* Approve the appropriate repair for covered claims based on contract terms and conditions.
* Accurately calculate repair costs by working closely with repair facilities.
* Apply contract terms, conditions and coverage to all claims.
* Negotiate prices for labor and parts as needed.
* Approve or decline repairs, towing, lodging and rental according to contract language.
* Document each claim clearly and consistently.
* Monitor call queues and while managing your time effectively to be available for customers.
* Handle customer issues/concerns/complaints in a timely manner.
* Utilize flat-rate manuals to verify parts and labor.
Qualifications and Skills
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Knowledge of mechanical systems including repairs, parts, and labor.
* Ability to diagnose mechanical issues based on the complaint, cause, and correction provided.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in typing, using computer systems, and software applications
* Detail-oriented and organized
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment and customer needs
* ASE or Manufacturer certification is a plus, but not required
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day. Job requires constant and reliable highspeed internet connection.
