We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our talented Mission Critical Data Center team. In this role, you will perform mission-critical and high-tech facilities commissioning-based services with a primary focus on standalone commissioning. You will also consult on and manage commissioning projects as developed and defined in project agreements with our clients. Additionally, you will perform site auditing, quality reviews, and commissioning services as required to meet project requirements. Developing business opportunities and projects with a focus on commissioning and related consulting and providing client management functions are other duties that you will perform. Position Responsibilities Mechanical Commissioning: Lead commissioning activities for mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units, chillers, and associated equipment. Testing and Verification: Develop and execute commissioning plans, conduct performance tests, verify control systems, and ensure that mechanical systems meet design specifications and operational requirements. Quality Control: Identify and report deviations from standards or project specifications, working to ensure that mechanical systems are built and maintained to the highest quality standards. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of commissioning activities, test results, and discrepancies. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory compliance. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that mechanical systems adhere to relevant industry regulations, standards, and safety guidelines, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, engineering teams, vendors, and contractors to coordinate commissioning activities, resolve issues, and ensure successful project delivery. Problem Resolution: Investigate and diagnose mechanical system issues, working with relevant teams to implement effective solutions, troubleshoot problems, and optimize system performance. Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to data center staff and operators on the proper use and maintenance of mechanical systems. Preventive Maintenance: Assist in planning and implementing preventive maintenance programs for mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize reliability. Travel based on the project location. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related military or previous field experience is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience in data center mechanical commissioning experience required. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, CRAC units, CRAC units, chillers, pumps, VRF systems, fan coils, BAS/BMS systems and associated components. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes. Able to read and interpret construction drawings and one-line drawings. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Teams, is required. Experience with Procore software, is preferred. Familiar with Bluebeam Studio/Revu. Experience with Share Point. Experience with file sharing platforms. OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certification (IPS will provide tools) must be maintained during employment. Commissioning and System startup experience is a plus. Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to successfully pass drug screening test, 10 panel DOT approved and background/security checks for on-site project access. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Safety & Context This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work on an active construction site.
