Currently, Facilities Management maintains over one million square feet of building space (County owned and leased) and 1.7 million square feet of grounds.The Facilities Management services provided include janitorial, general building maintenance, small scale renovations, remodel projects as well as ADA compliancy modifications and grounds maintenance.Facilities Management also manages parks in Hat Creek, French Gulch and the Balls Ferry Boat Ramp.ABOUT THE POSITIONUnder direction, to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, installation and repair of County buildings and equipment; and to perform other related work as required.This position requires journeyman level HVAC experience.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSThe Mechanical Crafts Worker II class is distinguished from the lower class of Mechanical Crafts Worker I in that incumbents in this class not only have a specialty but also can perform skilled or semi-skilled work in several other crafts as well as being familiar with County buildings and equipment.IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate for this position will have a broad general knowledge of and experience in the building trades including the ability to estimate projects for labor and materials that involve multiple trades. A Journeyman level of knowledge, experience, and training in HVAC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs and possession of an EPA 608 certification is required. A familiarity with plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, roofing, and painting including the ability to safely operate aerial lifts, forklifts is essential. The ideal candidate will have impeccable time management and prioritization skills to manage the changing workflow. Must be able to efficiently work as part of a crew or solo with minimal supervision, while maintaining a clean, hazard free project zone and courtesy for others in occupied office environments.
