Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Spring Lake, Michigan Type: Fulltime, Onsite Annually bonus- YesPosition Description: Mechanical engineering is responsible for the design of precision grinding machines from concept to troubleshooting after assembly. Mechanical engineering is responsible for initiating concept designs based on sales hand off and customer feedback, communicating those design concepts to internal engineering team members thru design reviews, developing those designs on 3D modeling software, managing those design projects to completion.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs Design Engineering activities to effectively satisfy objectives as assigned.
- Assures the successful completion of assigned projects, tasks, and activities on time, within budget, while delivering the predefined project performance goals.
- Produces and is accountable for proper and accurate engineering work and record keeping.
- Supports continuous machine design improvement effort.
- Maintains engineering documentation accuracy concerning revisions and design changes.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, as well as with vendors and contractors
- Travel when necessary.

Knowledge & Necessary Skills Required: - Detailed knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD software for modeling, assemblies, drawings, and BOM creation.
- Familiar with AutoCAD 2D.
- Exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability.
- Understands engineering concepts and machine systems.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability.
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects or tasks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of machine tool applications and processes
Education & Qualifications Required: - 2+ years practical experience in machine design, preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, preferred.
- Experience design Complex Machine Parts and Tools.
