Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Duration: 12 Months Contract + High Possibility of Extension

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Pay rate: $47 -$52 Per Hour

1st Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, (Monday to Friday)

Job Description:

  • The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing and designing electronic enclosures for aero-gas turbine engines. In this role, the Design Engineer ensures the enclosure definition meets the project requirements from concept to qualification test.
  • You will be responsible for supporting local Corporation and global engine programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines
  • Support the creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware
  • Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions
  • Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for the enclosure.
  • Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (i.e. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of design experience OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering OR
  • JD/PhD Engineering
  • To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred:

  • Electronic enclosure design and manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of aero gas turbine control systems
  • Experience using computer-aided design tools such as Siemens NX
  • Familiarity with design processes and component testing
