Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Duration: 12 Months Contract + High Possibility of Extension
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay rate: $47 -$52 Per Hour
1st Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, (Monday to Friday)

Job Description:
- The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing and designing electronic enclosures for aero-gas turbine engines. In this role, the Design Engineer ensures the enclosure definition meets the project requirements from concept to qualification test.
- You will be responsible for supporting local Corporation and global engine programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines
- Support the creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware
- Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions
- Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for the enclosure.
- Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (i.e. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of design experience OR
- Master's degree in Engineering OR
- JD/PhD Engineering

Preferred:
- Electronic enclosure design and manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of aero gas turbine control systems
- Experience using computer-aided design tools such as Siemens NX
- Familiarity with design processes and component testing
