About the Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development efforts of cutting-edge industrial products and related equipment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, enhance current products, pioneer new solutions that align with market needs and customer expectations, and optimize machine tooling and performance.
Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Utilize CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk AutoCAD) to create detailed designs and technical drawings for new and existing products.
- Prototype Testing: Coordinate prototype builds and conduct testing to validate design concepts, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Machine Improvement Design: Lead efforts in designing improvements to existing manufacturing machinery and equipment, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reliability, and safety. Optimize machine tooling and performance of existing products through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition of designs into production, addressing any design-related issues that may arise.
- Product Improvement: Continuously assess and improve existing products through design modifications and enhancements to meet evolving market demands and industry standards.
- Documentation: Assist in preparation of comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, BoMs (Bills of Materials), and engineering standard operating procedures.
Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing, industrial equipment, metals, plastics or related industry.
- ISO 9001 environment experience would be a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk AutoCAD preferred) and familiarity with other engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
