The types of projects the co-op can expect to be involved in include:
• Designing equipment, layouts, piping, and parts.• Supervising project-related items and equipment/parts installations.• Maintaining/updating drawings and equipment files.• Meeting with contractors, vendors, engineers, etc. • Researching files to obtain information to answer questions relating to various mill equipment and processes.• Assisting with the development of engineering schedules, budgets, and projects as assigned.• Assisting the Maintenance Engineer in all other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
• In pursuit of earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar from an accredited institution.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Must possess a solid mathematics background (trigonometry is essential).• Ability to envision things before they are designed, constructed, or fabricated.• Must be willing to work in dirty, noisy, hot, humid environments.• Must be able to work at high elevations or within confined spaces.• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.• Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, scales, etc.
