  • Develop, test, and evaluate mechanical and thermal devices or systems, using complex engineering principles.
  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
  • Work closely with other engineers, production staff, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the design meets the necessary criteria.
  • Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical equipment or systems using CAD software.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software to create prototypes.
  • Analyze the test results and change the design or system as needed.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process for the device or system.
  • Estimate cost limits and budgets for new designs.
  • Supervise the work of technicians and provide them with technical advice.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in machine design, preferably in the paper industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
