Role:
As a mechanical engineer on the project, you will be part of the global team mechanical team and key interface for the customer in the region. You will be responsible for the requirements, design and validation of the mechanical design of the product. You will work on cutting edge technology in the field of battery packs. Position may require up to 10% of local and international travel as needed.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
* Key mechanical design interface between the OE customer and the global Mobis team
* Design and development of mechanical component for battery pack as per Mobis Engineering Development process
* Responsible for design release and verification of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
* Work with simulation team to provide inputs and make design decisions
Competencies:
* Basic xEV electrical architecture and operating principle
* Familiarity with the current trends and future technologies in EV space
* Expert in GD&T schemes for Global OEMs Expert with tooling and engineering material selection
* Experience with Structural and Thermal Design
* Hands on experience with developing DFMEA
* Expert in mechanical CAD design tools - CATIA, NX CAD etc. and 3D/2D design release
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
* 10+ years of automotive product development experience
* 2+ years of experience with HV (BEV or PHEV) battery packs
* Basic Structural Design Experience and Tolerance Analysis
* High level of English verbal, written and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
* MS degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO, IEC, ASPICE and others
* Korean language skills a plus
