Location: Wallops Island,VA, USA
McCallie Associates, Inc. is the prime contractor for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Systems Engineering Advanced Services II (SEAS II) contract. McCallie has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer Level 2 with at least 3 years of relevant experience to support on-going NASA space mission projects. This position is located at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia.
* A Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer must be well versed in basic mechanical engineering principles including structures, mechanisms, and modeling methods such as finite element modeling.
* A Mechanical Engineer must be familiar with automated design and development tools and have the ability to prepare and manipulate detailed simulations of mechanical systems.
* A Mechanical Engineer must be able to perform extensive analyses of mechanical systems resulting in performance/weight/cost trade-off options. Methods and specifications for mechanical systems design, test, fabrication and integration must be well understood.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
* A Mechanical Engineer shall have 3 years of professional experience with 2 years of experience directly related to aerospace hardware applications as described above. This experience must include mechanical space systems assembly, integration and environmental qualification.
