The program blends real-world experience with an extensive overview of the chemical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The internship will be 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2025 with flexible start dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time.The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks.Position Summary:The Bayport Maintenance Intern will support our active maintenance and reliability programs in the areas of fixed and rotating equipment but will also have some exposure to electrical equipment & instrumentation. Specifically, the summer intern will be assigned some specific engineering work requests. These work requests will be assigned after a familiarization process with our plant and its processes. Responsibilities:
- Update Preventive Maintenance Plans
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis
- Assist in Mechanical Integrity Programs Maintenance Project Planning and Implementation
- Participate in Management of Change Process
- Participate in spare part analysis and inventory management
- Study plant maintenance processes and equipment
- Work with plant personnel on maintenance activities
- Work on assigned engineering work requests
- Complete any assigned procedures
- Prepare a presentation covering learnings from the summer
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant science degree.
- Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship.
- Strong academic performance minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement.
- Demonstrated communication and leadership skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity.
- Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screening process.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
