Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining product and industry knowledge within a cutting-edge engineering services firm, focusing on MEP across industries like healthcare, commercial, and industrial.

Responsibilities

  • Drive projects forward throughout design and construction phases.
  • Design various mechanical systems including air side and water side design, central plant, variable air volume and constant air volume systems, small and large HVAC systems, VRF systems, etc.
  • Construction assistance including shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys.
  • Lead and participate in meetings of clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.
  • Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines.
  • Preparation of mechanical construction cost estimates.
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings.
  • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including HVAC floor plans, schematic diagrams, load calculations, Comcheck calculations, controls, details and specifications for the project.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Professional Mechanical Engineering design experience.
  • Registered PE in the state of Texas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standards.
  • Strong understanding of DDC controls and controls design and operation.
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range objectives.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM and Energy Modeling.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions.
