Are you a skilled engineer with expertise in structual & thermal analysis, passionate about spacecraft development?
We are looking for a Structual & Thermal Analysis Engineer to join our team, working on cutting-edge space missions. In this role, you will focus on conducting detailed thermal analyses to ensure spacecraft systems operate efficiently and reliably in the harsh environment of space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thermal analysis of spacecraft systems, components, and subsystems to predict temperature behavior under various mission scenarios, from launch through orbit.
- Utilize industry-standard thermal analysis tools such as ANSYS, Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, ESATAN-TMS, and others to model heat transfer mechanisms like conduction, convection, and radiation.
- Develop and refine thermal models to evaluate spacecraft temperature profiles and identify potential thermal issues that could affect mission performance.
- Analyze steady-state and transient thermal performance, ensuring thermal control systems meet mission requirements for power, payload, and critical system stability.
- Collaborate with spacecraft designers, propulsion engineers, and systems engineers to integrate thermal designs into overall spacecraft architecture.
- Support thermal vacuum testing and thermal balance testing to validate analytical predictions and ensure that spacecraft perform as expected in real-world conditions.
- Evaluate and optimize thermal insulation, coatings, radiators, and other passive and active thermal control solutions.
- Produce detailed thermal reports and documentation to support design reviews and mission evaluations.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Strong background in thermal analysis with experience in the space industry or related fields.
- Expertise in using thermal analysis tools such as ANSYS, Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and ESATAN-TMS to model and predict thermal performance.
- Deep understanding of heat transfer mechanisms (conduction, convection, radiation) and their application in spacecraft systems.
- Familiarity with spacecraft thermal control systems, including radiators, heat pipes, insulation materials, and active/passive thermal management techniques.
- Experience in conducting and supporting thermal vacuum testing and validation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines.
