Responsible for the planning, design oversight, execution, and closeout of assigned CapEx projects, including equipment installations, refurbishments & upgrades, within an established budget and schedule.National pay range between $79,500 to $123,400 per yearSaint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.----ESSENTIALBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is Required; Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Preferred.Five (5) plus years' experience in Manufacturing – involving project management, engineering, design, commissioning, testing is Required.Demonstrated analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to advance technical skills through study and practical application.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient office computer skills including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.Willing to complete additional training as needed.Proficient with AutoCAD/SolidWorks or related applications.RESPONSIBILITIESManage multiple projects under tight deadlines.Gather and analyze data on maintenance repairs to the equipment and facility. Identify & evaluate opportunities to improve reliability of all assets.Creates preventative maintenance plans, promoting the detection of equipment failures through predictive maintenance & condition-based monitoring.Initiates and develops equipment and system designs. Takes equipment and systems from concept through to commissioning and testing.Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products including but limited to HVAC, Boilers, heat exchangers, heating ovens, filtration systems, ion-exchange skids, compressed air, water treatment, fire extinguishing systems, piping and vessel systems, and others.Runs experiments and tests to aid in the development of processing systems. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Translate Design Engineering data into applicable processes.Assists Process Engineering in reviewing customer special requirements and generate appropriate processes and methods to successfully accommodate and implement.Trouble-shoots and resolves manufacturing operating problems.Perform technical evaluations of vendors and equipment.Generate technical and economic justifications for the implementation of new processes, methods, and equipment.Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to document compliance with project and code requirements, which may include mass and energy balances, pressure profiles, pipe, pump and vessel sizing.Generates and is fully conversant with Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Process Data Sheets.Assists in the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications, including supervision of designers in document development in accordance with approved procedures, processes, and design requirements.Provides technical expertise and guidance to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.Ensures relevant design criteria, specifications, practices, procedures and codes, and site design and safety and licensing basis are used in preparation of design media.Ensures accuracy of design media in accordance with company policies and procedures and client expectations.Understands Lean Manufacturing Principles (Kaizen, 5S, Pilot Projects) and participates, supports and is familiar with Continuous Improvements methodology as it relates to WCM initiatives.Performs other duties as assigned.Saint-Gobain provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
