  • 5+ years as a Mechanical Engineer supporting federal medical facilities or healthcare environments
  • Knowledge of local, municipal, and federal building codes and standards
  • Experience managing large mechanical systems for institutional, industrial, or medical campuses
  • Ability to develop estimates and recommend repairs, sustainment, and optimizations for building systems
  • 5 years in design and consulting
  • Expert skills and extensive experience in mechanical trade for analyzing plans, data, designs, operations, and maintenance

D2D:

The Mechanical Engineer, PE, is responsible for developing, specifying, evaluating, monitoring, and analyzing maintenance procedures, services, performance requirements, and projects for mechanical building infrastructure systems in military medical healthcare facilities. This role ensures that facility systems are designed, installed, operated efficiently, and maintained to meet safe and efficient operational requirements, complying with government instructions, criteria, and industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Develop, acquire, and execute large and complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects. This includes creating performance work statements (PWS), developing estimates, serving as a technical advisor, chairing project meetings, performing quality assurance and safety compliance visits, and inspecting for design compliance.
  • Functional Testing and Commissioning: Perform functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of mechanical infrastructure systems, verifying design, installation, functionality, and performance.
  • Technical Advice: Provide high-level technical advice on compliance and quality management for major building systems, including HVAC, water distribution, plumbing, medical gas, security, automation, and fire suppression systems.
  • Support Programs: Support the DHA Enterprise Water Treatment Management programs by collecting and validating performance data, assisting in improving energy performance and water treatment effectiveness.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, ensuring they understand and comply with engineering procedures and DHA policies. Provide technical reviews and supervision to support their development in field work.
