Position Overview
We seek an experienced Mechanical Foreman/Special Projects Assistant Project Manager to join our Orange County, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a background in fieldwork, commercial HVAC service, and project management, focusing on piping and applied mechanical systems such as chillers. This role is suited for a local candidate with a stable work history who started in the field as a sheet metal or pipe fitter installer and progressed into commercial HVAC service and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical special projects, focusing on commercial HVAC systems.
- Manage project schedules, timelines, and resources to ensure on-time completion.
- Supervise and direct field personnel, ensuring high-quality installation and service.
- Manage project budgets, change orders, and invoicing.
- Collaborate with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders to address project needs and specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure materials and labor.
- Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals.
Qualifications
- Local candidates with a stable work history in Orange County, CA, are preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the HVAC industry, including fieldwork and commercial HVAC service.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment such as chillers, piping systems, and sheet metal installations.
- Project management experience overseeing HVAC projects, including schedule management, resource allocation, and client communication.
- Knowledge of change orders, invoicing, and budget management.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications in HVAC, sheet metal, or mechanical systems are preferred.
- Project management certifications are a plus.
