Lead Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)Onsite in Kansas City, KSSalary: Up to 130K + BonusCogs have partnered with a boutique MEP consulting firm providing services across residential, commercial and industrial markets as they seek a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team due the ongoing expansion.Due to the high demand for their services and the winning of several large contracts across the region, they are actively looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for taking ownership of the projects, oversee teams, and create construction documents, all while coordinating with multiple disciplines and maintaining strong client relationships.Position Overview: As a Mechanical engineer specialising in HVAC Design, you will be you will have an opportunity to contribute your expertise to various market sectors, including Healthcare, Retail, Recreation, Education, Transportation and Water/wastewater.Responsibilities:
  • Independently performs calculations and designs a range of engineering systems.
  • Prepares mechanical system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Reviews shop drawings for compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Conducts research and recommends system or equipment feasibility; evaluates product applications.
  • Helps build and maintain relationships with strategic partners and customers to support business development.
  • Actively pursues opportunities to learn and enhance skills in industry software like Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office.
  • May assist with project coordination tasks, including managing emails, scheduling, client meetings, quality control, and delivery.
  • Provides training or assistance to others when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural)
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC systems design in residential or commercial projects
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • PE Registration is preferred
  • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Load Calculation programs, MS Office
  • Able to perform site visits on active construction sites
