Overview: RDR Utility Services Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Welding QA/QC to join our team in the fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our welding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with X-ray to schedule, label, and document each weld.
  • Physically retrieve X-ray and heat numbers from welds, fittings, and pipes during fabrication, documenting findings on provided isometric drawings (ISO's).
  • Verify overall measurements and orientations of prefabricated pieces.
  • Mark and tag each spool upon completion of welding and prior to painting.
  • Confirm that painters return the correct tags to their respective pipes after the painting process.
  • Check in all materials for each job, ensuring compliance with specified grades and wall thickness according to design requirements.
  • Assist in creating test packages, including ISO's, material lists, Material Test Reports (MTR's), and other relevant documentation.
  • Track all backordered and/or missing materials to ensure project timelines are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of material grades, wall thickness, and ability to read and interpret Material Test Reports (MTR's).
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and file management.
  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), and mechanical overview drawings.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the oil and gas, pipeline, and fabrication industries.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) documentation is preferred.
