- Develops and reviews equipment specifications and standards for reliability improvement
- Assists the inspection department with Quality Control/Quality Assurance services for both shop and field work.
- Supports Operations and maintenance: working on small projects, developing/scoping EWR's (engineering work requests), OSLR (on stream leak repair - clamps, wraps), rerating of equipment, fitness for service and hydrotest calcs, assisting with maintenance planning of jobs
- Generates Management of Change (MOC) Documents.
- Updates unit records, tabulations and drawings through the MOC Process.
- Supports Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).
- Executes and implements MOC, PHA and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) derived recommendations and audit findings.
- Develops basic engineering packages for improvement projects.
- Specifies equipment according to standards and established practices prior to purchase.
- Develops weekly progress reports and the reliability engineering monthly report, for their respective operating complex, in addition to leading the presentation to the refinery leadership team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Be in good standing with DISA
- Valid TWIC is required.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 2 to 15 years of experience working in a refinery or chemical plant and/or with a consulting firm representing similar industries.
Physical Requirements
- Outside work often requires moderate physical exertion including climbing scaffolding, kneeling, bending, taking field measurements and walking projects
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, still toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
