  • Develops and reviews equipment specifications and standards for reliability improvement
  • Assists the inspection department with Quality Control/Quality Assurance services for both shop and field work.
  • Supports Operations and maintenance: working on small projects, developing/scoping EWR's (engineering work requests), OSLR (on stream leak repair - clamps, wraps), rerating of equipment, fitness for service and hydrotest calcs, assisting with maintenance planning of jobs
  • Generates Management of Change (MOC) Documents.
  • Updates unit records, tabulations and drawings through the MOC Process.
  • Supports Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).
  • Executes and implements MOC, PHA and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) derived recommendations and audit findings.
  • Develops basic engineering packages for improvement projects.
  • Specifies equipment according to standards and established practices prior to purchase.
  • Develops weekly progress reports and the reliability engineering monthly report, for their respective operating complex, in addition to leading the presentation to the refinery leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Be in good standing with DISA
  • Valid TWIC is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2 to 15 years of experience working in a refinery or chemical plant and/or with a consulting firm representing similar industries.
Physical Requirements
  • Outside work often requires moderate physical exertion including climbing scaffolding, kneeling, bending, taking field measurements and walking projects
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, still toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
