Job Description
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documentation: blueprints, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical components and systems (drives, bearings, gears, pneumatics, and hydraulics) with demonstrated ability to make practical application for troubleshooting and continual improvement efforts.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance practices (balance, alignment, and lubrication).
- Strong proficiency in Progressive Maintenance daily management systems: Work planning and Scheduling, Breakdown Elimination
- Strong proficiency in the use and application of SAP to access, update, and create maintenance standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible shifts and work up to a (12) hour shift.
- Must be able to read and write as well as have a basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in order to complete required reports.
- Must possess the analytical ability to understand safety hazards.
- Must be able to manually lift with both hands up to 50lbs. from floor level to waist level or vice-versa at least 3 times per shift.
- Must possesses the physical stamina to walk, stand, stoop or bend up to 100% of shift
- Must be able to communicate with leadership, mechanics and co-workers for safety, quality and production concerns.
