With great pay, outstanding work schedule (primarily Monday-Thursday, days) and a location in the Dallas, TX area, this is a tier one opportunity.Mechanical Technician: Krum, TX and Waco, TXPosition summary:- Inspect, repair, and maintain all substation equipment in the system (except meters, supervisory equipment, and relays) to prevent equipment failure and promote longer life- Respond to outage situations to assist in restoring power- Perform shop repairs on the equipment- Perform other duties as requiredTasks, duties and responsibilities:- Substation equipment testing, maintenance and repair- Repair and perform preventive maintenance on transformers, oil, and gas circuit breakers, reclosers, regulators, and other substation equipment- Check insulating oil for dielectric strength, PCB, and acid content- Assist in the installation and preparation of oil and gas filled power equipment for service- Assist power maintenance technicians with Doble testing - Assist pulling wire to equipment in substationsMaintenance schedules, record keeping and test equipment:- Ensure that all maintenance work on the maintenance schedule is performed in a timely manner. - Prepare oil test, switching and maintenance reports, maintain records and files- Notify supervisor of test equipment issues- Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of test equipmentEPA regulated material:- Provide information from the field regarding PCB records, testing, labeling and clean-up of all oil spills- Maintain all necessary records regarding hazardous and controlled material for internal environmental personnelBase salary, $90 - $95K, plus substantial amounts of overtime, and great benefits.
