TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Luverne, Minnesota, 56156 Pay Information $2,632 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: General Medicine Routine Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable shifts, including weekends, with avariety of rotating 8 or 12-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years, specifically in labor and delivery care License: Active RN License, willing to obtain MN license if necessary Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - Skills in IV starts, labor and delivery care, care of newborns, care of medical/surgical patients, and care of swing bed (skilled) patients Job Description: - Perform IV starts and infusions - Insert and care for Foley catheters - Insert and manage nasogastric tubes and feeding tube infusions - Monitor telemetry - Conduct head-to-toe assessments for medical/surgical patients, labor and delivery patients, and newborns - Utilize computerized charting with Epic, and equipment such as Philips Avalon and Obix fetal monitoring, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Plum A IV pumps, and Philips cardiac monitors and telemetry - Float between medical/surgical and labor and delivery units, as well as the newborn nursery - Work with two or more RNs per shift, ensuring comprehensive patient care - Adapt to a flexible schedule with 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights, and non-set weekend rotations - Assist with OB labor and delivery and support low acuity medical/surgical floor patients - Undergo one week of orientation to familiarize with unit/department specific procedures and protocols Notes: The environment includes a 4-room OB unit for labor and delivery that converts into post-partum, and a 19-bed medical/surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio usually 1:4 or less, but could be up to 1:5 during nights. Labor and delivery are 1:1 for laboring mothers.
