Job Summary: Collects and handles clinical specimens. Performs laboratory tests, operates laboratory equipment, and reports results under the supervision of a medical technologist. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.Performance Expectations:Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and precepted phases of your orientation to your job.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to properly utilize laboratory equipment, microscopes, and instrumentation.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot technical multiple pieces of laboratory equipment, microscopes, and instrumentation.
- Demonstrate safe laboratory work habits.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform laboratory tests with precision and accuracy in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow laboratory guidelines set forth by CLIA.
Qualifications:Education/Skills Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or equivalent required. Work Experience: None required.Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- MLT (ASCP), CLT (NCA), eligible for same or equivalent credentials.
