Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Media/Lab/Equipment Student Assistant on the Gainesville campus. The student assistant will facilitate equipment check-in and check-out for both Film AND Communication/Journalism classes and student projects, as needed. This position will also facilitate student, staff and faculty use of all media labs (Editing Suites, Audio Production Suites, Broadcast Studio, Film Stages, etc.). Should have flexible hours and availability.
Responsibilities
* Primarily responsible for maintaining and accounting for all Film and Communication equipment (including media labs and facilities), trouble-shooting, repairing (minor), and demonstrating proper care and use of equipment/labs to faculty, staff, and students.
* Additionally, the majority of this position's hours will be centered around the check-out and check-in times for major productions and class equipment/lab needs.
Knowledge Skills, & Abilities
* Should have a desire to learn functionality/best practices of all Film/Comm/Journalism facilities/equipment AND be able to effectively communicate/demonstrate them to students, staff and faculty, as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
* Must be enrolled in a Film, Communication, Journalism or Theatre degree-seeking program.
